TAMPA, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced $60 million for cancer research during his visit to Tampa on Wednesday.

DeSantis announced the funds during a stop at the University of South Florida , where the Florida Department of Health was holding a World Cancer Research Day symposium.

This is the third year that funding for cancer research is made available through the Florida Cancer Innovation Fund (FCIF), which is part of the Casey DeSantis Cancer Research Program, according to the state's Department of Health.
