Well, the 20-year-old is going to get a second game on a line with centre Scott Laughton and Steve Lorentz. As long as Cowan’s play doesn’t tail off — and there have been no indications that it will — it’s looking more and more like he will be a safe bet to earn a spot in the opening-night lineup.
