CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Saluki Family Weekend and Homecoming celebrations are set for October.

Saluki Family Weekend will be October 2-5, and homecoming week will be Oct. 20-26.

According to the university, there will be a guest appearance by actor Danny Trejo.

He will speak at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 in Shyrock Auditorium. Everyone is welcome to attend for free. The doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Organizers say a limited number of audience participants, selected at random, will get to meet Trejo after the event ends at 8 p.m.
