SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- A state prison offender who was housed at the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls died Tuesday, the state Department of Corrections said in a news release.
Kaleb Lukkes, 25, was found unresponsive in his cell, according to the DOC.
Lukkes was serving a sentence for aggravated assault. Luccas is the third inmate death in two days.
The DOC reported on Wednesday the death of Keith McLain, 57, who died of an apparent suicide on Monday. McLain was also found unresponsive in his cell.
Frank Twiggs, 64, died Wednesday in a comfort care setting at the prison in Sioux Falls.
Luccas is the 15th reported DOC offender death of 2025.
