BARGERSVILLE, Ind. -- Police have arrested a Bargersville man accused of killing a cat "out of anger."

According to court documents filed in Johnson County on Sept. 17, a 32-year-old man has been preliminarily charged with cruelty to an animal, which is a misdemeanor.

The alleged incident occurred on Sept. 1 when an officer with the Bargersville Police Department responded to a home on N. Wagon Road in response to a reported disturbance involving the death of a cat.

The officer arrived and began speaking with the man. He initially denied the allegations before going on to admit that he had been arguing with his wife. Court documents show that he admitted to going outside and killing the kitten in a fit of anger. He said he stepped on the cat.
