DANDRIDGE — Morristown East closed its regular-season district schedule by sweeping host Jefferson County Tuesday night.

East jumped out to a quick lead in the first two sets and posted 25-18 and 25-19 wins and then closed out the match by scoring the final three points to win 25-22 in the third set.

The Lady Hurricanes wound up at 7-3 in league play, which put them in third place. Heritage leads at 8-2 and Sevier County is 7-2 with a match at West on Thursday.

East is now 9-3 overall, while Jefferson County fell to 5-9 and 3-7 in the district.

Hannah Hall put down 14 kills and Riley Forester added 10 for the Lady ‘Canes. Tori Johnson racked up 15 assists and Mallorie Wilson added 10. Johnson also led in digs with nine while Forester and Marley Epps had eight each and Hall had seven.
