OWASSO — Jalen Montonati, a two-time state basketball player of the year, committed to Oklahoma State on Thursday during a ceremony at the Owasso High School gym.
Montonati, a 6-7 senior, has many Power-4 offers. His father and coach, Brian Montonati, is a former Oklahoma State player.
Last season, Jalen Montonati averaged 23.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists to help the Rams post a 24-5 record and reach the Class 6AI state tournament. In 2024, Montonati helped lead Class 6A Owasso to its first state title.
In 82 career games, he has 1,799 points and 441 rebounds.
Montonati was the first junior to be selected as the Tulsa World’s boys state basketball player of the year in consecutive seasons. He also is a two-time winner of Gatorade's state
