Alberta RCMP say two people have been charged in connection to a church fire in Bellis — roughly 125 km northeast of Edmonton.
Mounties say on Sept. 21, they received a report regarding an attempted and a successful vehicle theft. Reports also said that the suspects had fled the area in two separate vehicles.
RCMP responded and found the two vehicles, noticing they were being driven erratically. It was at this point that the officers attempted a traffic stop.
As the vehicles continued to flee, officers attempted to use a tire deflation device. RCMP say that one of the vehicles drove towards a police car and rammed it.
Following the collision, the suspect tried to use bear spray and flee.
