RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Reno Police Department says they are looking for a suspect accused of beating someone in downtown Reno.

Police say the incident happened on Tuesday night, just before 11:00 on the Virginia Street Plaza.

RPD says the victim and suspect got into a verbal fight when the suspect pulled out a gun and pistol-whipped the victim.

Investigators say the victim was taken to the hospital with severe injuries to the head and face, but reportedly is not cooperating with the investigation.

The suspect is described as a man with a gray goatee and was last seen wearing a green sweatshirt, blue jeans, and carrying a black backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call RPD.
