A person was seriously injured when they were hit by a vehicle in East Boston on Thursday, police said.
The person was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Boston police. The driver was believed to have stayed at the scene, and no arrests had immediately been made.

Police didn't immediately say what's believed to have led to the crash.
Central Square was taped off as police investigated. Police said the area, including Meridian Street at Border and Lexington streets, was being blocked off.
