A funeral for three officers killed in the line of duty last week was held Thursday, drawing thousands of livestream viewers.
Northern York County Regional Police Detectives Sgt. Cody Becker, 39, Mark Baker, 53, and Isaiah Emenheiser, 43 , were killed in action on Sept. 17.
“They were the best of us. Their sacrifice is a solemn reminder of the cost of service, but also the courage required to stand in the face of darkness,” NYCRPD Chief David Lash said.
The service was held at Living Word Community Church in Red Lion. Gov. Josh Shapiro was in attendance. The funeral was closed to the public, but thousands of people watched the service online.
Aaron Anderson, lead pastor of the church, began the service by saying the community owed the three officers “a debt of gratitude.”
