Stunned Ally McCoist has claimed that referee Matej Jug "invented" a shove to get out of awarding Rangers a foul against Genk. ‌

With the first half of the Europa League showdown goalless , Joris Kayembe was flagged for handball by the VAR team after a header from James Tavernier. ‌

Whistler Jug was then sent over to the pitch side monitor to review the incident - but opted to penalise the Ibrox skipper for a shove on the Genk man and give a free-kick to the visitors. ‌

After the incident was initially flagged by the off-field team, the Ibrox icon said: "It's not a handball, man. The guy has jumped for the ball and it has hit his arm, yes, but I don't know.
