ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The world’s busiest airport has lost millions in federal funding for upholding its diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI, policies, according to officials.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has lost $37.5 million in federal funding.
In a letter between Hartsfield-Jackson and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the federal agency said it would not participate in several airport projects “due to the refusal or inability of the city to sign (its) standard grant offers.”
Those projects, which included taxiway pavement replacement, terminal restroom renovations and a safety project for the north airfield, are worth over $50 million in costs.
