GARRETT, Ind. (WPTA) - A former mayor of Garrett has died at the age of 100.
Herbert P. Kleeman passed away on Monday at DuPont Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Kleeman served as mayor of Garrett from 1992 to 2004.
In addition to serving as Garrett’s mayor, Kleeman is remembered as a son, brother, cousin, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather, as well as for his involvement in the community.
Kleeman’s visitation is being held at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday.
Funeral services will begin at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Keaton Christiansen officiating.
Kleeman will be buried with military honors at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
