DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Macon County has lifted its temporary burn ban in various communities across the county.

The Macon County Emergency Management Agency said that the following communities can return to their previous burn guidelines: Blue Mound, Decatur, Forsyth, Harristown, Niantic, South Wheatland and Warrensburg.

Despite restrictions being lifted in those communities, MCEMA urges residents to continue taking proper precautions when burning.

Per the NWS Drought Monitor Report , most of Macon County remains under a moderate drought, while eastern portions of the county are experiencing a severe drought.
