COLUMBIA, S.C. - An alleged associate of convicted lawyer Alex Murdaugh pleaded guilty to all state charges during his court appearance

Russell Laffitte pled guilty to all 21 of his state charges.

He faced three counts of criminal conspiracies, three computer crimes and 15 breaches of trust at the state level.

Laffitte has been ordered to pay more than $3.5 million and will serve eight years in prison concurrent with his federal sentence.

His defense attorneys had initially requested a new state trial date for October 2025 at the end of 2024, a month after he was successfully granted the new trial.
