TOPEKA, Kan. (KCTV) - Several powerhouse football programs in Kansas high school athletics will be changing classes soon.
In an announcement shared by KSHSAA on Thursday, the association shared which classification football programs will be playing in for 2026 and 2027.
Among the schools changing classification are Mill Valley, Piper and St. Thomas Aquinas.
Mill Valley and St. Thomas Aquinas have combined to win each of the last seven state championships in Kansas 5A.
KSHSAA said Mill Valley will move up into 6A and St. Thomas Aquinas will move down to 4A.
Piper will be moving up from 4A to 5A.
