ROCK HILL, S.C. — A teen was killed in a shooting in Rock Hill after another teen mishandled a firearm.

The shooting happened at an apartment on Springsteen Road around 1 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Rock Hill Police Department.

Police found a 14-year-old dead at the apartment from a single gunshot wound. The victim's name has not been released.

Investigators say a 15-year-old was manipulating and mishandling a firearm when the shot was fired at the victim.

The 15-year-old is charged with involuntary manslaughter. Their name has not been released. Police placed the teen in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
