HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Court documents have identified a teenager killed in what police called an accidental shooting in Huntsville on Saturday.
The Huntsville Police Department said on Saturday, at about 7 p.m., officers went to a home on TeeJay Drive for a possible shooting in progress. When they arrived, HPD said officers found a 16-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound. The teen was pronounced dead on the scene, according to authorities.
According to court records obtained by News 19, the 16-year-old killed in the shooting was identified as Jayden Maclin.
HPD said DaeShawn Harkey, 18, was also found in the home with Maclin. Court records say the two were cousins.
Police said their investigation found that Harkey believed a gun he was handling was unloaded when it discharged, h
