EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha is closing in on a decision for next year's race for governor.
Neronha, who is term-limited as attorney general, told Globe Rhode Island reporter Ed Fitzpatrick that he won't make a decision until the first week of October.
If Neronha enters the race, he'd join a field that currently has Gov. Dan McKee and former CVS executive Helena Foulkes, and could also include House Speaker Joe Shekarchi.
Fitzpatrick joined 12 News at 4 Thursday to talk about his conversation with Neronha and what challenges he may face against well-funded opponents.
