RIVERTON, Utah (ABC4) — The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) announced it will be reopening travel on Bangerter Highway near 13400 South in Riverton, which has been under construction for nearly a year.
This is the latest development in a decade-long project to remove stoplights from Bangerter Highway in favor of freeway-style interchanges. By removing traffic signals, UDOT hopes to reduce travel times and congestion and improve safety on one of Utah’s most used highways.
"Getting 13400 South open in both directions gives people back valuable time in their day," UDOT Region Two Director Robert Stewart said. "It’s another step in making Bangerter Highway a reliable, connected route for the whole southwest valley."
Between Friday, Sept. 26, at 10 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 29, at 5 a.
