FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Violence against law enforcement is something members of our local Fraternal Order of Police say they’re keeping their eyes on.
It comes after the FOP President in Indianapolis made a statement saying there needs to be change to keep officers safe.
Even though factors behind violence against law enforcement here locally might not be exactly the same as they are in Indianapolis, the Fort Wayne FOP President says it’s a problem that still needs to be addressed.
“We’re all concerned about the violence,” said Fort Wayne FOP President, Sophia Rosales-Scatena.
Rosales-Scatena is a 31-year veteran of the Fort Wayne Police Department.
“I think most of the officers in this area, it’s just the lack of respect. People feel very free to call us whatever names they want.
