ALLEN PARK — For as much good as Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard could take away from the team’s victory over the Baltimore Ravens, he’s still fixated on one thing that’s been missing so far this season.

A unit that pressured quarterback Lamar Jackson 34 times and sacked him seven times is still not starting off as strong as Sheppard wants.

“I continue to stand up here, hopefully these guys hear this message — if nothing else that I say — I want to start the game with a three-and-out," Sheppard told reporters on Thursday. “Hopefully, we could kind of eventually get that done.”

The opening drive hasn’t been a strongpoint for the Lions (2-1) this season.
