MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Some people living in Mississippi and Louisiana were unable to call 911 today.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said AT&T reported damage to some of its lines, affecting 911 services across the state just hours ago.
Areas affected were asked to contact local agencies for emergencies.
According to the Orleans Parish Communication District, their 911 services have been restored.
Officials do not believe a cyberattack caused this.
Mobile and the surrounding areas are not affected by this outage.
