PHOENIX -- For the 12th time in the past 13 years, the NL West crown belongs to the Dodgers.
Behind a strong start from Yoshinobu Yamamoto and a power show from Freddie Freeman, Shohei Ohtani and Andy Pages, the Dodgers took another step forward in their bid to defend their World Series title, clinching the division with an 8-0 win over the D-backs on Thursday afternoon at Chase Field.
It was a fitting way for the Dodgers to claim the West. Yamamoto, their only rotation member who did not miss a start this year, ended his regular season with a gem, striking out seven across six scoreless innings.
