WASHINGTON — On Thursday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty in every eligible case in D.C.
The order instructs the Attorney General and the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia to seek capital punishment for all "criminals found guilty of especially aggravated crimes." This comes as the United States Attorney's office has already brought far more cases to federal court since Jeanine Pirro took over in May.
