Week 5 was a rough one for a lot of our area’s largest schools. The six Class 5A and 6A teams in Northeast Indiana went a combined 2-4, with only Carroll (47-14 win over Snider) and Northrop (47-6 victory at Concordia) coming out ahead.

The Bruins are the only team from this group with four wins at the halfway mark, and they have the chance to take the inside track in the SAC race if they beat Bishop Dwenger this week.

Class 5A and 6A

1. Carroll (2-3, 2-1 SAC): The Chargers are back at the top spot after one week at No. 2. They may only have two wins, but last week they dismantled Snider in a way that not even Warsaw and East Noble did in the first two weeks of the season. Gabe Frisinger completed 27 of 34 pass attempts for 363 yards and five touchdowns, and Carroll’s 172 rushing yards
