ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - A new owner wants to revive a downtown venue that was once a staple of Quad-Cities’ nightlight and music scene.

The Rock Island Brewing Company, better known as RIBCO, was bought by Quad Cities entrepreneur Zachary Edwards.

He said a comeback is about more than music; it’s about creating a livable, walkable neighborhood in the heart of the city.

Built in the 1880s, the historic brick building has hosted decades of concerts, karaoke nights, and late-night memories. Edwards says he wants to honor that past while building something new.

That means keeping the music alive by booking bands as soon as doors reopen and adding fresh twists like live-band karaoke nights and even brunch service on weekends.
