Microsoft has taken action against a unit in Israel's military by cutting off some of its services. This decision followed an investigation into allegations of using Microsoft cloud products for the mass surveillance of Palestinians.
Microsoft President Brad Smith stated that the company's decision came after reviewing a report from The Guardian. The report alleged that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) had utilized Microsoft's storage service to collect and store recordings of Palestinian civilian phone calls.
"The company's review had found evidence that supports at least some of The Guardian's report," Smith said.
