Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted Thursday by a grand jury on two counts, for allegedly making a false statement and obstruction of justice.

Comey has been under investigation by the FBI for allegedly making false statements to Congress on Sept. 30, 2020, on the investigation into the relationship between President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia.

The case against Comey is being handled by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, where Lindsey Halligan, a White House aide, is the acting U.S. attorney.

After the news broke about Comey’s indictment, Attorney General Pam Bondi released a statement seemingly about the case.
