MONTOURSVILLE — It will cost nearly $200 million to complete the major work on a thruway project in central Pennsylvania, based on the bids opened Thursday by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The low bid of $186,381,639 to pave and do other assorted work on the southern section of the Central Susquehanna Valley Thruway (CSVT) was submitted as a joint venture by two Allegheny County firms, Trumbull Corp. and Golden Triangle Construction Co.

The bid is approximately $1.3 million lower than the one submitted by New Enterprise Stone Lime Co. of Bedford County. Two others were also received.
