A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 4:56 p.m. for gusty showers until 5:30 p.m. for Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer and Washington counties.

Residents can anticipate wind gusts of up to 40 mph.

"At 4:55 p.m., Doppler radar tracked gusty showers along a line extending from near Ballston Spa to Niskayuna to near Voorheesville. Movement was northeast at 35 mph," adds the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects."
