PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - To help bridge its $300 million budget gap, TriMet is planning layoffs and services cuts to bus lines that run throughout the Portland metro area.
Starting Nov. 30, TriMet will reduce how often buses arrive on certain bus lines.
After 9 p.m., buses will arrive hourly at the following lines:
Line 35-Macadam/Greeley
Line 52-Farmington/185th
Line 77-Broadway/Halsey
Line 81-Kane/257th
The popular FX2-Division line will also be impacted. According to TriMet, “buses will arrive every 24 to 35 minutes during early morning and nighttime hours. FX2 buses will continue arriving every 12 minutes between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., every day of the week.”
“Operating in a deficit just isn’t sustainable, so it’s time to do something and TriMet is going to act now,” said Tia York, m
