CLEVELAND -- José Ramírez continued to put his stamp on the Cleveland franchise record books in Thursday’s 4-2 loss to the Tigers.

With an opposite-field RBI double in the eighth inning, Ramírez became Cleveland’s all-time extra-base hits leader, with 726. He broke a tie with Hall of Fame outfielder Earl Averill, who compiled 725 extra-base hits over 11 seasons with the franchise.

It’s the latest feather in Ramírez’s cap as the 33-year-old continues to pad his Hall-of-Fame-worthy resume. On Wednesday, Ramírez joined Averill as the only Cleveland players to tally 3,000 total bases in a career.
