LAS CRUCES, N.M. —

A murder suspect was taken into custody months after an apparent road rage shooting left a 14-year-old dead in Las Cruces .

Police arrested 18-year-old Jonathan Estrada after the fatal shooting on June 2. He was arrested at a business on Bataan Memorial West on Thursday morning, Sept, 25, according to the Las Cruces Police Department.

Estrada faces seven felony counts, including second-degree murder, two counts each of aggravated assault and shooting at or from a motor vehicle. He was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center.

Police investigators believe the shooting was a result of road rage between two vehicles. The shooting resulted in the death of 14-year-old Alejandro Roman, who was a backseat passenger when the shooting happened.
