The Jays proved him right on Thursday, combining no-hit pitching through six innings with a Daulton Varsho grand slam to break open a scoreless game and beat the Boston Red Sox 6-1, ending a four-game losing streak. Article content Article content

Varsho’s blast to deep right came off lefty reliever Justin Wilson, who had just been brought into the game to face him, and was the second grand slam of the season for the Jays’ centre fielder.
