MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Madison Police Department arrested a suspect on Wednesday for allegedly swinging a frying pan at people, officials reported on Thursday.

According to MPD, a call came in at around 9:30 a.m. in the 300 block of N. Brooks Street for reports of a bicycle theft.

While officers were on scene investigating the theft, an individual went up to authorities and reported being shot.

Police later learned the suspect had not been shot. MPD says the individual had picked up a frying pan and allegedly began swinging it at people and banging it against the wall.

MPD arrested the suspect on charges of disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping.
