EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville officials are hoping someone local will step up to apply to fill one of the three vacant seats on the board of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
Governor Braun announced this week that applications are being taken.
State Representative Alex Burton told us today having someone from our area will give us a voice on rising utility costs.
“We have a unique set of challenges and though CenterPoint is our energy provider, they are the smallest footprint compared to the other utilities, energy utilities in the state,” Burton says. “So, that has to be taken it into account, and we have to figure out a path that’s that’s fair and reasonable that really puts energy costs in the burden those those of us in Southwest Indiana face.”
