In a significant move, US President Donald Trump on Friday announced a new set of punitive tariffs, stating the US will impose 100% duties on imported drugs. Intensifying his tariff attack, he said that 25% duties will be applied to heavy-duty trucks, while 50% will be applied to kitchen cabinets, commencing October 1.

“Starting October 1, 2025, we will be imposing a 100% tariff on any branded or patented pharmaceutical product, unless a company is building their pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in America,” the US President said in a post on Truth Social.
