PHOENIX – While gas prices have soared in Arizona during the month of September, cheaper prices are on the way.
In the past month, fuel prices have climbed 24 cents per gallon on average in Arizona, but as refineries switch to a winter a blend from the summer blend with higher production costs, Arizonans will soon see cheaper prices at the pump.
The EPA requires gas retailers in Maricopa County and portions of Pinal and Yavapai Counties to sell these summer blends from June 1 through Sept. 30. The switch is made in order to reduce pollutants.
In Arizona, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is at $3.57 as of Thursday. The price dropped two cents since last week, according to AAA’s Fuel Prices database. In Phoenix, the price is significantly above the statewide average at $
