EASTMAN, Ga. — The city of Eastman is asking residents for ideas as it works to develop a downtown plan that would qualify the community for state tax incentives aimed at attracting new businesses and improving quality of life.
The Central Georgia city of about 5,600 residents has launched a survey to gather public input on revitalizing its downtown area. The survey is available through a QR code on the city of Eastman Facebook page.
City Manager Spence Barron said the city wants to work with property owners to reduce or improve blighted properties and amend ordinances to allow college students to rent vacant downtown buildings.
