CLEVELAND, Ohio - My company has parking spots for employees who have electric vehicles. The issue is that they are always in use. It only takes about two hours to fully charge, but most vehicles stay parked long after they’re charged. Some are there all day. This prevents other vehicles from charging.

Is it wrong to take the hose out of a fully charged vehicle to start charging your own if the owner hasn’t done so in a reasonable amount of time?

ANSWER: That’s great that your company offers charging stations. If they have many employees with electric vehicles, this can be a significant time-saver. That said, this is about consideration. If there are more employees with electric vehicles than there are charging stations, then those who use this service must do better at sharing.
