Rep. Sara Jacobs, D-Calif., knows just how difficult it can be to “have it all.”
She served in the Obama Administration as a State Department policy adviser and held roles at UNICEF and the United Nations. Now in her third congressional term, Jacobs is one of the youngest women in Congress.
She’s 36.
Her demanding job requires 12 hours a week of cross-country flights and frequent campaign and diplomatic travel, which complicates family planning for her and her partner.
So amid congressional hearings, floor speeches and campaign events for California’s Proposition 50 on the ballot this fall, Jacobs decided to freeze her eggs.
