JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville mother is starting over after a devastating house fire destroyed everything she and her daughter owned.

In the middle of the loss came something unexpected: overwhelming love and support from their community.

“I was lost. Everything that I have worked for, for the past six years, I have lost,” said Brittany Hackley.

Brittany Hackley and her 7-year-old daughter Brianna have called this northside residence their home for the last two years, but in just moments, everything was gone.

“I was at my school getting ready to pick up my kids and my mom called. she said, it's firefighters at the house. I can't get through. Then she hung up and 5 minutes later she called back saying the house was on fire and it's gone,” said Hackley.
