As a mother-of-four, Nahil Chidiac was not surprised by a report that anti-Palestinian racism in Australian schools is systemic and widespread.
Her children have experienced the same kind of discrimination and Ms Chidiac says the problem has been largely ignored by school management.
"They haven't fully taken it seriously, so they don't address it," she told AAP.
"This is personally impacting a lot of our students, a lot of our children in classes, and they're being told not to speak about it."
The nationwide report into anti-Palestinian racism in schools, released on Friday, details analysis of more than 80 accounts, including of children as young as eight.
