The Marquee, an Asheville staple, is finally reopened after Hurricane Helene destroyed the building and much of the River Arts District.

Hundreds of people were flooding in and out of the Marquee Thursday, as some said they never thought they'd see it reopen. 

"It is so wonderful to be in the market and have it finally reopened," said Mickey Poandl with Explore Asheville. "To have it be back really feels like the start of the River Arts District being back."

The marquee was destroyed during Hurricane Helene, leaving hundreds of vendors without a place to call home. According to Jeffrey Burroughs with the River Arts District, 80% of the River Arts District was lost, destroying art and millions of potential dollars at the popular tourist spot.
