ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) -- Coming off their first win of the season, the UAlbany football team carry a bit of momentum into their conference opener against New Hampshire on Saturday. However, after an injury to starting Quarterback, Jack Shields, during the win over Cornell last week, the Great Danes will have a new man under center this week.
Interim Head Coach, Jared Ambrose, said at practice on Thursday that Colin Parachek, a Junior transfer from Marshall, will make the start on Saturday against the Wildcats. Parachek took over for Shields at halftime of the 13-10 win over Cornell, completing 6 of 11 throws for 45 yards through the air in the second half.
Parachek battled Shields in training camp for the starting job, while Shields did win the competition, Parachek got his chance to work
