The Pueblo East Eagles hosted the Holy Family Tigers on Thursday, Sept. 25, at Dutch Clark Stadium.
The Tigers came into the contest (3-0) as the No. 2-ranked team in Class 3A, according to Maxpreps.com. The Eagles (1-3) were ranked No. 15.
This would be an uphill battle for the Eagles on paper.
However, on the field, the Eagles were prepared. They came out of the gates and went toe-to-toe with the Tigers and had the lead at halftime, 14-6. Logan Trujillo and Xavian Khamphavong both scored touchdowns for the Eagles in the first half.
In the second half, Dolphka Lewis took over and rushed for three touchdowns to put the game out of reach for the Tigers, as the Eagles would win 35-14.
