The mystery regarding iconic Assamese singer Zubeen Garg's death continues with the police detention of musician Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, who was allegedly on the yacht with the singer just before he passed away.

Another person now in the spotlight is Shyamkanu Mahanta , who was the chief organiser of the Northeast India Festival where Garg had gone to perform in Singapore before his death. In the wake of the incident, the Assam government has banned Mahanta from holding events or functions in the state.
