Dehradun (21.08.2025): The recent flash flood that killed many due to encroachment along the river course, the Centre seems to be in no mood to let go such issues unaddressed as it has asked the state Forest Department to initiated action against son-in-law of the forest minister of Uttarakhand for illegal construction of eco huts in Munsiyari in Pithoragarh district. The report in this regard was submitted by whistle-blower officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi , Chief Conservator of Forests (Working Plan) . In Munsyari’s Khaliya Reserved Forest, 10 eco huts, a growth centre, and a dormitory were illegally built without approvals in 2019, violating forest laws.
